Google Search Changes will Favor Mobile-Friendly Websites

On April 21st this year, Google made changes to their ranking algorithm so that websites that aren't optimized for mobile devices are penalized in search results. If your website isn’t mobile-friendly, this affects you directly, as your website no longer appears to potential clients searching for a local installer on their mobile devices or smartphones. 

Let’s backtrack - what does Google mean by “mobile-friendly”? If you have ever needed to zoom in to read the microscopic text or scroll endlessly through a website on a smartphone, you understand how frustrating and difficult simple actions such as reading, clicking, and filling out forms can be on a website is not designed for mobile users. Interestingly, 77% of mobile searches occur at home or at work, where users are likely to be in close range of a desktop computer as well.
